Kanium WoW Classic update

Hello Everyone,

as you know we will be playing WoW this upcoming August and i have been fairly busy with gathering information and preparing documentation. I have been getting several questions so i have decided to make this little news update.

What faction will we be playing?: We will be playing Horde. This has mainly been decided on a majority preference. We have pretty much played all Alliance for our private server excursions and most of us would appreciate a change of aesthetics at this point.

What server are we going?: We will be going to a PvP server. As for what server we do not know yet as Blizzard has not released server names yet. But rest assured i will let people know when we do hear more from Blizzard about this. Do note our main choice will be for a high population server as that will ensure server longevity too. Blizzards planned layering system at release will also safe us the hassle from long ques and overpopulated zones. Do note that the layering system will NOT be permanent and will be gone before phase 2 starts. Also fuck streamer servers.

What is all this documentation?: Last week i have been gathering information in regards to Talent specs, pre-raid BIS gear, enchants and consumables per class. This is a fuck ton of information that i will need to organize and verify. Now you would think there are already very complete guides out there for the public. But that is sadly not the case.

Hence i’m making our own complete guide. I hope to finish it this week. Documentation in regards to keeping track of our wow related member base has already been readied and simply needs to be filled in now. Same thing for our recruitment adds which will be going up this week.

Will we be figuring out level buddies?: As release gets closer we will be setting up a channel where people can look for a level buddy from within the guild. This is not mandatory but highly encouraged as it’s always more fun to level with a buddy! We also have fairly long time window for getting to lvl 60 compared to other guilds so you got more leeway in regards to time and schedule when it comes to picking a buddy!

That is all for now but expect more news soon!

Kanium Initial WoW Classic Plans

Okay so these are the things we discussed in the meeting in regards to our initial plans for WoW classic with the guild.

– Kanium will once again be aiming to be a highly organized PVE/PVP guild that will be aiming to be in the middle between Casual/hardcore.

– Faction to yet be decided on. Hinges on external factors. More info on that soon.

– Loot system will be loot council. Just as on Anathema it will be based on a myriad of factors like performance, size of upgrade, raid efficiency and so forth. No favoritism or other nonsense like that. Our track record on Anathema is a testament to this and we had very very few whine/drama situations in regards to loot. (Kabenaro lol)

– A lot of recruitment, guild setup and assorted info needed for our member-base will be handled pre-launch classic WoW and an assortment of google documents and Discord channels will be used to track, sort and organize everything in advance.

– We expect people to be in optimal specs, work on their BIS and limited list of consumables and help one another with this and do their part in helping Kanium become the best it can be. But we don’t expect/force people to go to the borderline edge of it like a lot  hardcore guilds do. Think of things like expecting members to get BOE BIS items. Not allowing slight deviations in optimal raid specs or wanting people to rep farm for certain epics. We frown highly upon slackers and retards though.

– PvP mainly will be World PvP and in later phases some organized bg’s. Though no super heavy ranking unless i can find people that have time to facilitate that.  (Dedicated ranking to rank 14 requires 12-15 hours a day for 3 months hence why. Rank 10 is very doable in comparison though.)

– Dedicated main raid day will be Saturday evening. With 1-2 other secondary raids that week. Those are optional and are on a sign-up basis every week.

– Saturday is for the bigger raids like MC, BWL, AQ40 and so forth and will work nicely with the way Blizzard has the current phases set. Secondary raid days are for smaller raids like ZG, AQ20 or older raids like MC as we phase them out from Saturday due to progressing into newer raids and having farmed most of what we need out of older raid content. We expect high attendance for Saturday.

– There will be a bench system that encompasses a certain amount of less active players that make it so we have a surplus of members to make sure our raids are always full and to cover for people that miss a raid for whatever reason.

Open Collective

Guten tag everyone,

as announced in the last meeting, we now have an open collective page. Initially we operated with a paypal funding account that would temporarily open up for donations to cover a part of the operational costs of Kanium every few months. The rest was usually supplemented by me or Hatt personally from our own wallets.

After reviewing the situation we decided we wanted to improve Kanium’s financial situation and opted to go for the Open Collective system. Open Collective is a fully transparent funding system with the option to make a single donation or a monthly donation, with a subscription based model. The monthly based plans also offer fun little bonuses depending on what tier you choose.

What is the funds used for?:
– Voice server hosting.
– Website Hosting.
– Server machines and maintenance.
– Excess funds will be used for improving Kanium as a brand or our services.

As always, donations are fully optional. But if you do want to help then any amount is very welcomed. If you would like to donate through alternative ways then feel free to contact me or Hatt. We are also planning to setup a merch store as an additional way to support Kanium and get some sweet goodies at the same time.

The Kanium twitch channel

Guten Tag all,

as some of you might know, we have a twitch channel. This was created in order to establish a bigger media presence for Kanium in order to advertise more for our community. Admittedly this has always been a weak area for us but the twitch channel is one of the first steps in order to improve that.

Right now the Kanium Twitch channel hosts a few Kanium members doing some casual streaming but we still lack people that want to become more serious about it.

Thus i have decided to take the first step and start out with some more serious streaming, starting with 1-2 days per week and testing/building up from there.

Want to help out? Then watch me stream! Any interaction is welcome! Simply letting the stream run in the background to bump up the viewer count will also help attracting more people. I will also appreciate constructive feed back as i surely will be missing things or making mistakes seeing this is also very new for me.

Kanium Movie Night

Movie night is an old Kanium event which we decided to reintroduce. We come together as a group on Discord and hop on a third party website that syncs up a video of choice for us to watch.

General banter and movie critique allowed but don’t overdo it!

As for the next movie we are going to watch, you can find that here.

The Kanium funding account

hey all,

just putting the word out there for our funding account. The money is needed to make payments for our website, servers, TS3 and so forth. So if you would like to help then feel free to donate. Big or small it’s all welcome.

Escape from Tarkov [Recruiting]

Guten tag all,

we are currently playing a lot of Escape from Tarkov to experience all the new content that has been patched in. We also started to recruit more people to our ranks for EFT.

Note: The game is still in closed beta atm so it’s still under development but the devs add improvements and content on a regular basis.

Escape from Tarkov is an hardcore survival fps with a lot of realism and rpg elements. The first and essential mode is available in the current beta which are raids. A raid typically last an hour or hour and a half long and takes place on various large open maps, about 5-10 sq. km.

The player will have to consecutively clear all of these raid scenarios, with several possible exits. By completing one raid, the player unlocks the next one. Players can return to the previously unlocked raids in search for particular loot or more detailed exploration.

When all raids (there will be around 10 of them) are completed, a free roam mode will be unlocked. In this mode, player can move around a 15-20 sq. km. area without any time limits. (Not in the beta yet)

The main RPG elements in the Escape from Tarkov are the grid based inventory system, leveling traders and character skill upgrades. New levels will be gained by acquiring new experience – combat, looting, healing, exploration, lockpicking etc.

Anyone is welcome to join. Interested in getting the game? Then head over here: https://www.escapefromtarkov.com/preorder-page

Rainbow Six Siege

Hey guys,

as some of you have noticed a lot of us are playing Siege Lately and i would like to extend an invite to the rest of Kanium to join in with the fun!

Will this be the next big thing? I have no clue but it supplies the community for some good fun for a while. Though i am keen to find out if there are other competitive Kanium members that are perhaps interested in setting up a 5 man ranked team.

Where to buy it? Simply buy the starter edition on steam or a cheap standard edition from the many key shops out there. Unlocking operators is easy enough regardless of what edition you buy.
